Spring/Summer 2025 Teaching Update

Though I’m often teaching prolifically at various post-secondary institutions, this summer I’m just teaching three classes: two sections of Paths of Faith (World Religions) at Sheridan College and another course on World Geography, Religion, and Culture at Conestoga College. I’ve taught both of these courses several times, so reteaching them again this summer has provided me with an opportunity to update some of my teaching materials, as I revisit these courses through the summer months.

The other thing that I’ll be actively working on this summer is preparing and revising my course materials for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters. The summer months are typically an opportune time for most profs to go through their course materials, reassess and update course content, edit slides, and develop classroom activities. One area of focus that I am particularly keen to revise and rework this summer are my courses on New Religious Movements (NRMs). This winter, I’ve had the opportunity to do some additional reading and research on various NRMs, and I am very excited to incorporate some of this information into my courses.

I’m also hoping to get back into third age learning in the fall, so I am currently contemplating course topics that I may wish to offer. Right now, I’m leaning into the areas of NRMs and popular culture, but I’m still mulling over a few exciting possibilities.

Enjoy the weather!
